Holidays are here; Semester 1 comes to a close. School finishes on Friday, 21 June for a two-week break. Students will return to school on Monday, 8 July. We hope families enjoy their time away from the school routine.

Some wonderful news family may have recently heard – Christ the King School has made the Top 150 performing primary school and is one of 11 Brisbane Catholic Education schools making up the Top 100 in the 2023 Queensland rankings.

Now we're in winter and temperatures have dropped, we are beginning to see in the community and among children the usual run of cold symptoms, such as runny noses and coughs. As parents would be aware, it is extremely important that any student with cold or flu-type symptoms stay away from school until symptoms have passed.

We wish our mums and mother figures from CTK School a fabulous day on Sunday, 12 May and are well looked after by their families. All mums and mother figures are invited to our Friday morning breakfast at 8am and are encouraged to stay for our special Prayer Assembly​​.

Honouring sacrifice and resilience

ANZAC Day serves as a poignant reminder of the courage, sacrifice and resilience of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who served during World War I, and all those who have served since. It holds a special place in our national consciousness, providing an opportunity for reflection, remembrance and gratitude.

On Thursday, 7 March, Christ the King School held an Open Day promoting our school to new and interested families. Our visitors were able to enjoy a school tour of our grounds and classrooms and hear our Senior Choir give a beautiful performance. Visiting families have commented on how welcome our teachers and staff made them feel during their time at CTK School

Christ the King Schoo​l is fortunate to have an outstanding group of Year 6 students to lead our school community in 2024. On Friday, 9 February, our Year 6 students took part in a beautiful leadership induction liturgy with their parents where students were commissioned into this important role.​
