Young Engineers STEM Club

Christ the King School is excited to introduce the Young Engineers After-School STEM Club, a hands-on enrichment opportunity designed to spark curiosity, creativity and confidence in students through the exciting world of engineering and technology.

Delivered at our school at the end of the school day and running over eight [8] weeks of each term, Young Engineers is a dynamic learning environment where students build, explore and think like real engineers – all in a safe, supportive and engaging environment.

What is Young Engineers?

Young Engineers is an internationally recoginised STEM education program. The after-school clubs are built around hands-on learning, using specially designed LEGO kits, electronics and guided engineering challenges to bring science, technology, engineering and mathematics to life.

Each session encourages students to design, build, test and problem-solve, helping them develop real-world skills while having fun.

How the After-School Program Works

Young Engineers After-School STEM Club runs conveniently on school premises, allowing students to move straight from the final bell into their session – no extra travel required for families. All materials, equipment and learning resources are fully provided, and sessions are led by trained Young Engineers educators.

Programs are structured around a comprehensive curriculum featuring hundreds of engaging workshops, ensuring learning remains fresh, meaningful and age-appropriate throughout the term.

Learning Through Play and Problem-Solving

Every Young Engineers sessions blends engineerings, robotics, teamwork and creative thinking. Students are encouraged to respectfully ask questions, experiment with ideas and learn through trial and error – building resilience and confidence as they overcome challenges.

The program places a strong focus on:

  • problem-solving and critical thinking
  • collaboration and communication
  • creativity and innovation
  • 21st century STEM skills

This approach supports a wide range of learners, including gifted and neurodiverse students in an inclusive and encouraging setting.

Sessions will be held at Christ the King School on Tuesdays from 3pm to 4:30pm in the Library. Students will meet the Young Engineers educators at 2:50pm, where a roll will be taken before the class starts. Parents and guardians are asked to collect their children promptly at 4:30pm.

The cost of the program is $240 per child per term. This is payable upon registration.
