HPE and Sport

​Health and Physical Education

Sport is an integral part of school life, and as such, every child at Christ the King School is expected to take part in Health and Physical Education classes throughout the year. HPE is an important classroom program within the school’s curriculum. Together with a classroom component children are provided with a developmental skills program in a variety of sports. In Prep to Year 2, simple skill and gross motor development is the priority. In Year 3 modified games are workshopped with students and in Years 4-6 students may choose to be involved in interschool competitions.

Interschool Sports

All students are also given the opportunity to represent Christ the King School at various interschool and zone carnivals the district in a variety of sports.​ Children with a particular expertise in any sport will be encouraged and supported in their participation at district, zone and state level of the Primary School Sports Association of Queensland. 

​Year 4–6 students participate in interschool sports played across the four terms. Sports on offer include soccer, netball, cricket, softball, volleyball, tennis and touch football. Christ the King School plays against local state and private schools in the region.
