Martial Arts with Chikara Martial Arts

Christ the King School is excited to offer students the opportunity to participate in Martial Arts for Children, delivered by the experienced team at Chikara Martial Arts (CMA). With more than 25 years of teaching across Brisbane’s western suburbs, CMA brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to their programs, offering instruction in four major styles: Zen Do Kai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Krav Maga, and Muay Thai.

Led by Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instructor Patrick McCarthy, the program is designed not only to teach martial arts techniques but also to instil values such as respect, discipline, and resilience. Students are encouraged to be role models — both in their training and in their everyday lives — demonstrating the positive impact martial arts can have on young minds.

The program is suitable for students from Prep to Year 6, with sessions held on Wednesdays from 3pm to 4pm at the Prep Turf Area. Over the course of five weeks (Weeks 3–4 and Weeks 6–8), students will engage in age-appropriate martial arts training in a safe and supportive environment.

Martial arts offer a range of benefits for children, including improved focus, self-confidence, physical fitness, and emotional regulation. It’s a fantastic way for students to channel energy positively while learning valuable life skills.

The cost is $180 per student, payable upon registration. All equipment is provided, and no prior experience is necessary.

We look forward to seeing our students grow stronger — inside and out — through this exciting program.
