The Henny Penny Hatching program is an enthralling experience for children and staff. Marvel at the wonder of Mother Nature right in the classroom.
The word is out... Christ the King School, Graceville has chicks in the Library. The annual Henny Penny Hatching program is an eleven-day incubation program giving students – and staff – the opportunity to watch egg hatching in a specially designed incubator. Then students observe the hatched chicks at play in a large, clear-sided brooding pen.
The chicks will be at CTK School for two weeks (Monday, 13 March to Friday, 24 March).
Making learning a joy
The Henny Penny Hatching program provides a beautiful experience for our children. The students are really engaged and they all work really well with the program.
The program also aligns with students' learnings in preparation for Easter. Learning about new life and the care involved in these young chicks' lives is so valuable. Students learn about bonding, care, compassion, safety and, most of all, love.
Chicks are available for adoption
It is understandable that children are excited about the hatching chicks. While the chicks involved in the Henny Penny Program are available for adoption, we encourage CTK School families to consider the program's guidelines before taking a chick home.
